More of a straightforward "rock" album than my other stuff. The title comes from a Milan Kundera book, "Testaments Betrayed." Kundera called rock n' roll 'trivialized ecstasy' - a way to have an "out of body" experience without necessarily becoming wiser or more intelligent for it. Real art, (like his own novels, presumably) would be non-trivial ecstasy, I suppose.

You can tell Kundera doesn't have a really high opinion of rock. But I figure that's exactly what makes rock (and pop music in general) so special: excitement and ecstasy free from the burden of artistic interpretation. That's hardly a bad thing : )
